RT Rim Protectors Installation

Looking for help installing your new RimTrims? You've come to the right place!

There are a couple important things you need to know:

01 Initial Wheel Rim Clean & Prepare - Wearing gloves, clean wheel lip with your own rubbing alcohol and shop towels* or similar. Then wipe the wheel lip with your RT Rim Protectors alcohol wipe.
02 Apply Promoter - Apply promoter with gentle, thorough strokes to outer lip of your rim. Allow to set for up to 5 minutes.
03 Peel & Apply Rim Trims - Peel 1" of backing tape and apply trim so guide lip is resting on outer edge of wheel lip. The wide part of the trim and tape stick on the face of the wheel. DO NOT BEND TRIM OVER EDGE OF THE LIP. Continue process 1" at a time utilizing the guide lip to line up before pulling backing tape from under rim trim. Press down trim after removing backing tape.
04 Cut / Trim Excess - Cut rim trim as well as you can so that the ends but up with no overlap.

05 Apply Joint Covering Clip - Wipe promoter over seam where clip will be applied. Remove backing tape and apply clip.

06 Press Down Trim and Clip - Press down rim trim and clip. Use alcohol to clean any promoter off rim trim and wheel. RT Rim Protectors adhesive takes 36 hours to fully bond. You can drive immediately after installation at highway speed, not in excess. Do not apply any cleaning chemicals or tine shine for 1 week.

01 Clean the wheel thoroughly using dish soap and water.

02 Prep the outer lip of the wheel with the provided Easy Wheel Prep Sponge.

03 Wipe the outer lip clean with a paper towel to remove any residue.

04 Apply a thin layer of glue to the bottom side of one section of Linx.

05 Spread the glue evenly with your finger, removing any excess glue. Use a rag or paper towel to clean your finger.

06 Position the Linx section onto the wheel lip, ensuring the guide lip aligns with the outward edge of the wheel.

07 Repeat for all remaining sections of Linx.

08 Secure each section:

  • Press each section down firmly.
  • Close any gaps by pressing from the outside edge toward the center of the wheel.
  • Adjust sections as needed to ensure gaps between them are evenly spaced.

09 Handle excess glue carefully:

  • Do not smear excess glue that may push out when Linx is applied.
  • Allow the glue to fully cure; once solid, it can be easily trimmed or removed with the included removal tool.
